*Yoke Decorated with Hand embroideries, neatly tucked in with herringbone lace, capturing the beauty and details.

*Sleeves with a hint of vintage, elbow length trimmed with sheer organdie and French lace .

*Fully gathered skirt tapered towards the top, creating a poise silhouette.

* Delicate French lace and rows of pencil line tucks skirting the hemline.

*Hand-made bow tie with sheer 100% cotton organdie, gathered and pulled into the front yoke to secure, bringing fine balance and aesthetics.

*Neatly folded back opening, hand hemmed and secured with traditional hand-sewn hooks and decorated with mother-of-pearl buttons.

*Dress is fully lined, ( attached petticoat) with 100% cotton voile.

French Heirloom Sewing

The gown is stitched using the French heirloom sewing technique. It is a traditional sewing technique, used for constructing high-end dresses, which demand a superior finish. It conceals the entire raw edges.

Fabric
Swiss Cotton - Premium cotton fabric, airy and light. It has a nice drape, not crushed easily.

Lining Fabric
100% cotton voile, very smooth and soft.

About The Hand Embroidery.

White work, and hand embroidery were highly popular in European fashion during the early 18th century. Sheer cotton muslin dresses embroidered with classical designs were in high demand. Motifs and designs were executed with various surface stitches and drawn threadwork [an old hand embroidery technique by pulling the fabric weaves apart to create a net\ tulle, effect]

White work on this dress is made with the same traditional methods, by a skilled hand, just needle and thread. It is painstakingly done, dedicating hours and hours of time and skill.
